Teenager airlifted to hospital after motocross incident

An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a teenager to hospital, after a motocross incident in the Sunshine Coast region this afternoon (Sunday, 13th of March).

It’s believed the rider had attempted a jump on his bike when he landed on uneven ground, causing him to lose control and fall off.

The Sunshine Coast-based rescue chopper was called to the scene just before 5:30pm.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Paramedics treated the teen for injuries to his arm, shoulder and pelvis.

He was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
