The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a man to hospital after he fell from a horse and hit his head.
The helicopter was tasked to the North Burnett region at 4pm today (Thu 17th March) and landed on a rural property.
The man, aged in his sixties, was unconscious when his family first found him.
It’s believed he had been in that state for hours, before help arrived.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel were the first to arrive on the scene, with the help of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, who assisted them to access the property.
Due to the difficult terrain, it was decided transport by helicopter was the safest way to move the man.
The patient was still unconscious with serious injuries, but in a stable condition, when the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew flew him to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
