The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a teenage male to hospital last night after he injured his foot while operating a dozer in the Somerset region.

The crew was called out just after 5pm to a private rural property and landed after dark in a paddock.

Two Queensland Police Service vehicles illuminated a landing area using high-beam headlights.

The Rural Fire Brigade (RFB) also attended the incident.

It is believed the boy was operating the dozer when he jumped off and caught his foot on an attachment, suffering a significant injury.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the patient on scene before he was loaded onto the helicopter by the LifeFlight aeromedical crew.

He was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
