Seriously injured teenager airlifted after car crashes into tree

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a teenager to hospital, after he was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash, in the Southern Downs region, this afternoon.

It’s believed the teen was the driver and sole occupant of the ute, which reportedly veered off the road and collided with a tree.

The rescue chopper was called into action shortly before 4pm (Saturday, 1st April).

The helicopter pilot landed the aircraft in a paddock near the scene of the crash, where the patient was transported to by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics.

The patient was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital, under the care of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic.

He was transported in a serious condition, with head and leg injuries.
