The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today rescue-winched two mountain climbers after they became stranded.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 5:10pm to a mountain in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
It is believed a man and woman were near the top of the mountain when they were unable to descend in fading light.
A LifeFlight rescue crew officer (RCO) was winched down to the climbers and they were both winched separately into the helicopter in a patient harness.
The helicopter landed at the base of the mountain where the patients were assessed by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics.
Both climbers, aged in their 20s, did not require medical treatment.
