LifeFlight rescues three men lost in outback Queensland

The Mount Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has located three men lost while travelling to the Northern Territory.

The rescue chopper was tasked by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) on Friday (March 1) to search for three men who had travelled in their vehicle.

The men lost direction in the Boulia region and were bogged due to recent rain.

Due to the remote area, the trio had no phone coverage to call for help and were lost for three days.

They started walking to find phone reception.One of the men walked 24km’s before finding phone service.

He contacted family who then contacted QPS with their location.

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedic accessed all three patients.

The trio were then airlifted to Mount Isa Hospital for observation.
