LifeFlight airlifts woman after single vehicle accident

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew airlifted a woman to hospital this morning, after she was injured in a single vehicle accident.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the scene in the Somerset region at 9:15am (Sat 22nd June) with the pilot able to land close to the scene.

It’s believed the vehicle crashed into a power pole and came to a halt in a ditch, injuring the sole occupant.

The RACQ LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic treated the patient alongside local QAS paramedics.

A female patient, aged in her 40s, suffered traumatic injuries to her head, and was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
