LifeFlight’s Brisbane-based critical care doctor Felicity Gilbert stood on a plastic stool in a cow paddock that morphed into an outdoor intensive care unit to save Joshua. Alongside helping her was LifeFlight flight nurse Carlie Manson. Joshua, who had suffered a brain bleed, lay inside the helicopter as the women intubated him so that he was safe to fly.
When Josh got to meet the aeromedical team that saved him, he said he was super grateful the LifeFlight helicopter was close by when he had his massive stroke.
