LifeFlight winches motorcyclist after crash

The LifeFlight Bundaberg-based aeromedical crew yesterday winched a motorcyclist after a crash in the Fraser Coast region.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 11.32am to a forest northwest of Hervey Bay.

The LifeFlight rescue crew officer, critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic were winched down to treat the woman for a leg injury.

The crew and patient, in her 20s, were winched back into the helicopter and she was airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
