LifeFlight airlifts motocross rider after crash

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical team today airlifted a man to hospital after a motorbike crash near Maleny in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 2:51pm by Retrieval Services Queensland to a recreational park and landed near the scene.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for chest and facial injuries.

The man, in his 40s, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
