The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical team today airlifted two teenagers from the same motocross competition northwest of Maleny in separate missions.
The first mission was for a teenage girl, and the second mission was for a teenager boy.
Both were airlifted to hospital after crashing their motorbikes.
The LifeFlight helicopter, including a specialist aeromedical team, was tasked at 8.40am and then later at 12.18pm by Retrieval Services Queensland to Elaman Creek and both times landed at a motocross park.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat both teenage patients.
The teenage girl was treated for multiple fractures and a head injury.
The teenager boy was treated for chest and suspected internal injuries.
Both teenagers were airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment. They were both in stable conditions.
