The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man after his dirt bike hit a tree stump on K’gari.
The LifeFlight helicopter, including a specialist aeromedical team, was tasked at 9.23am by Retrieval Services Queensland.
The chopper landed on the beach.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the man for a chest and hand injuries.
The man, in his 20s, was airlifted to the LifeFlight Bundaberg base and road transported by QAS paramedics to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
