The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew airlifted three bike riders today from separate incidents.

Around 10.30am, the chopper was sent to the Southern Downs region to airlift a man, aged in 30s, who had suffered suspected lower limb and spinal injuries after crashing his motorbike. 

He was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment. 

The aeromedical team was then tasked to the Ipswich region to airlift a man, aged in his 60s, who had crashed his mountain bike. He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital. 

Shortly after 5.30pm, the pilot flew the chopper to the Western Downs region to airlift a man, aged in his 30s, who had crashed a motorbike while riding at a private property. 

He was flown to Princess Alexandra hospital with a severe head injury. 

Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
