The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a woman to hospital, after she was charged, then trampled, by one of the cattle she was herding this afternoon. (Sun 20th Nov)
The rescue helicopter was called into action at about 2.45pm.
The pilot landed the aircraft at a private property, north-west of Dayboro, where the incident happened.
It is believed the woman, who is aged in her fifties, was helping herd and load cattle at a friend’s property when one of the animals ran at her, knocking her to the ground, then stomping on her.
She suffered suspected chest injuries and was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene, before being airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, in a stable condition.
The aeromedical crew was tasked to this incident directly from Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where they had just completed handing over a patient who was airlifted after she suffered injuries when her car rolled over on a gravel road, in the South Burnett region.
