RACQ LifeFlight Rescue joins search for missing motorcyclist

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has been called in to help with the flood emergency in Queensland.

The crew was tasked by Queensland Police Service (QPS) at 9:45am today (Wed 23rd) after an abandoned motorbike was spotted in floodwaters, in the Gympie region.

It’s believed the rider, aged in his fifties, was travelling from work around 1am, but he never made it home.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue is working with the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) to find the missing man.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter is equipped with winching capability, allowing the crew to recover a patient in difficult terrain.
