RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts three dirt bike riders in three days

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted three dirt bike riders to hospital in three days.

On Friday afternoon, a buck’s party ended early for the groom, who suffered pelvis and back injuries, after coming off a motorcycle at a designated off-road park in the South Burnett region.

The helicopter pilot landed the aircraft close to the incident and the man, who is aged in his twenties, was airlifted in a stable condition.

On Saturday, a rider aged in his sixties, crashed his dirt bike during a failed attempt at a small jump during a party in the Fraser Coast region.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called into action around 12.30pm, with the pilot landing at a private property to retrieve the patient, who had suffered leg injuries.

Another rider who is also aged in his sixties, suffered an ankle injury after coming off his bike during a group ride with friends in a South Burnett bushland area on Sunday afternoon.

Tasked at around 2pm, the pilot landed the recue chopper in a clear area, while the patient was transported to the landing site by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics.

All three injured riders were airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
