RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts man after hinterland crash

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a man to hospital, after he was injured in a single vehicle crash in the Gold Coast hinterland.

It’s believed the man’s car had left the road and crashed into a tree.

The aeromedical team was called into action around 4.45 this afternoon (Monday 7th August).

The pilots landed the aircraft on the road near the accident scene, which had been closed to traffic by Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Flight Nurse joined Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics in treating the patient and preparing him for the flight.

The patient, who is aged in his 50s, was then flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital, in a serious but stable condition.
