RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts critically injured driver after rollover

An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a critically injured man to hospital, after he was involved in a single vehicle rollover, on the Fraser Coast.

It’s believed the man, who is aged in his 70s, was driving on a stretch of road, when the car veered off the road and rolled.

The Sunshine Coast-based helicopter was tasked to the scene of the crash, just before 11am.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue pilot landed the aircraft on the road, which had been closed by local Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers.

The aeromedical team met with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for multiple injuries, including critical head and chest injuries.

The patient was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, under the supervision of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic.
