RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts child injured in helicopter crash

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has airlifted a child to hospital, after a helicopter crash on the Gold Coast, this afternoon.

The rescue aircraft was called to the scene just after 2pm, as part of a multi-agency response to the emergency.

The pilot initially landed at the scene and shortly after relocated to a nearby helipad.

The aeromedical team then airlifted a primary school-aged child to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, in a serious condition, under the care of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Flight Nurse.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight crew, which are currently flying in the Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter, were also tasked, however were not required to transport any patients.
