RACQ LifeFlight airlifts man injured in collision

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured when two cars collided on a highway.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the Gladstone region at around midday.

The pilot was able to safely land the aircraft on the highway, which had been closed off by Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers.

The aeromedical crew worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the man for multiple injuries.

The patient, aged in his 30s, was flown to Bundaberg Hospital for further treatment.
