Mt Isa LifeFlight airlifts injured truck driver

The Mt Isa-based LifeFlight aeromedical helicopter crew was today tasked to airlift a man after a single vehicle accident.

The man, aged in his 20s, crashed a concrete truck in the Shire of Cloncurry at around 12.30pm.

He lost control of the vehicle before it rolled several times and came to a standstill in a nearby paddock.

The man was able to free himself from the wreckage, before he was spotted by passing motorists who pulled over and called Triple Zero.

The LifeFlight helicopter crew was able to land on a road near the accident.

They were met on scene by Queensland Ambulance Paramedics (QAS), Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Queensland Fire Department (QFD).

The patient was treated for multiple injuries by QAS paramedics, before he was airlifted to Mt Isa Hospital in a stable condition.
