The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after he crashed at least five metres off a bridge, in the Toowoomba region, this morning.
The motorist, who is aged in his 20s, had reportedly lost control of his vehicle while driving along a bridge, causing him to crash into the barrier and down an embankment.
The ute landed in a creek, where the driver was able to self-extricate.
The rescue chopper was called into action just after 10:30am.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper pilot landed on a stretch of road, near the scene of the crash, where the aeromedical crew met with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for minor injuries.
He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition, under the supervision of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor.
