The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital, after his bike and a vehicle collided, in the Gympie region, this afternoon.

The rescue helicopter was sent to the scene, shortly after 1pm (Saturday 29th May).

The pilot was able to land the aircraft on the road.

The aeromedical team worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for lower limb injuries.

The male, aged in his sixties, was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, under the care of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and a QAS Flight Paramedic.

He was transported in a stable condition.
