Motorcyclist airlifted after crashing on home-made ramp

The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew airlifted a motorcyclist to hospital, after he was injured attempting a stunt on a home-made ramp.

The rescue chopper was tasked into action to fly to a property south-west of Bundaberg around 4.00pm yesterday afternoon (Thurs, March 23).

It’s believed the rider, aged in his 20s, was performing a jump on the home-made structure when he lost control of his bike and came off.

The motorcycle subsequently landed on his legs.

The pilot was able to land the rescue chopper near the private property, where the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic assisted local QAS paramedics.

The man was treated for a leg fracture, before being flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
