Motorcyclist airlifted after collision with car

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the Somerset region at around 2.30 this afternoon and the pilot was able to safely land on a grassy area near the incident.

The aeromedical crew worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the man for multiple injuries.

The patient, aged in his 50s, was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
