Man airlifted after serious two vehicle crash

The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after a two-vehicle crash in the Banana region.

The rescue chopper was tasked into action around 11pm last night (Mon, March 27).

It’s believed the cars collided on a stretch of highway southeast of Biloela, reportedly injuring multiple people.

The pilot was able to land the aircraft nearby on the road, where the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic assisted local QAS paramedics.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) personnel were also on scene.

One man, aged in his 40s, was treated for internal bleeding before being flown to Bundaberg Hospital.

The occupant of the other vehicle was transported to hospital via QAS road ambulance.
