LifeFlight airlifts woman injured and pinned down by lawn mower

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a woman to hospital, after she was involved in a ride-on mower incident in the Sunshine Coast region, this afternoon.

The woman, who is aged in her 60s, was reportedly cutting grass with a ride-on lawn mower on a private property when she fell down an embankment.

She landed in a small gully and was pinned down by the lawn mower.

The rescue chopper was tasked to assist just before 3pm.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter pilot landed the aircraft near the scene of the incident, where the aeromedical crew met with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) personnel to free and treat the patient for multiple injuries.

She was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
