LifeFlight airlifts two motorcycle riders in separate incidents

LifeFlight has airlifted two motorcyclists to hospital in separate missions today.

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast-based aeromedical crew were tasked to a national park in the Moreton Bay region, where the injured trail bike rider and friend had been riding.

The rescue chopper was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ) at 10:30am.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for significant chest injuries.

The man in his 40s was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.

Later that day, the LifeFlight Toowoomba-based aeromedical team were tasked to a motocross park in the Southern Downs region at 12.10pm.

Once on scene, the aeromedical crew worked with QAS paramedics to treat the rider for a suspected pelvic injury.

The man in his 30s was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
