The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) aeromedical crew yesterday airlifted a teenager to hospital after a motorbike crash in the Maranoa region.
It is believed the teen was helping his father muster cattle on a rural property when the incident occurred.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 10:45am and landed in a paddock near the scene.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and flight paramedic treated the teenager for shoulder and pelvis injuries before he was flown to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
Tasked by Queensland Ambulance Service, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
