LifeFlight airlifts motorist seriously injured in crash

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured in a two-vehicle crash in the Bundaberg region, this morning.

It’s believed the driver, who is aged in his 60s, had been travelling south, when the two cars collided.

The rescue chopper was called into action just after 10:30am.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper pilot landed the aircraft on a stretch of road, near the scene of the crash, where the aeromedical team met with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the patient.

The motorist was treated for multiple injuries, including to his chest.

He was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
