LifeFlight airlifts man injured in dirt bike crash

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured in a motorcycle incident, in the South Burnett region.

It’s believed the man, who is aged in his 40s, was riding a dirt bike with friends on a private property when the motorcycle collided with another rider at high speed.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the scene, shortly before 2:00pm (Saturday,17th June).

Once on scene, the aeromedical crew met with local Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the man for multiple fractures and spinal injuries.

He was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further assessment.
