LifeFlight airlifts man after forest dirtbike crash

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital after a dirtbike crash.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 11.05am by Retrieval Services Queensland to a state forest south of Maryborough.

The helicopter winched down the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight critical care paramedic who assessed the patient.

QAS paramedics then transported the patient by road to the helicopter which landed nearby.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the man for leg and arm injuries.

The patient, in his 40s, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
