LifeFlight airlifts teen after horse fall

The Mount Isa-based LifeFlight aeromedical team today airlifted a teenager after she fell off a horse while moving cattle in the Shire of McKinlay.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 10.13am to a rural property east of Mount Isa and landed near the scene.

The critical care Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic treated the patient for suspected neck and back injuries.

She was airlifted to Mount Isa Hospital for further treatment.
