LifeFlight airlifts injured water skier to hospital

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast aeromedical crew airlifted a male to hospital after he was injured in a water skiing accident in the Somerset region today.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the scene at 9am, where the pilot landed the aircraft near the incident.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for a suspected spinal injury.

It’s believed the water skier fell while being towed behind a boat.

The patient, aged in his 60s, was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
