LifeFlight airlifts critically injured motorbike rider to hospital

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a man to hospital, after he was critically injured in a crash involving a motorbike and car in the Toowoomba region, yesterday morning.

It’s believed the man, who is aged in his 60s, was riding his motorbike when it collided with a turning car.

The rescue chopper was called into action just before 10am and landed on a stretch of highway near where the crash had occurred.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic were already on scene, after being tasked via road ambulance.

The aeromedical team, alongside local QAS paramedics, treated the patient for multiple injuries, including a head injury.

The man was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
