The man, aged in his 20s, was mustering cattle 155 kilometres northeast of Mt Isa when the incident occurred. He was able to escape the wreckage and call for help on a hand-held radio.

The LifeFlight crew was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 10.15am and landed in a paddock close to the scene.

The patient was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics for back and spinal injuries and flown to Mt Isa Hospital in a stable condition.
