LifeFlight airlifts boy after motorbike crash

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) aeromedical crew today airlifted a boy to hospital after a motorbike crash near Oakey.

It is believed the teenage boy was travelling on a cattle property when he came off his motorbike after hitting a metal post.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 1.40pm and landed at the property.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight paramedic working with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the boy for head and arm injuries on scene before he was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

Tasked by Queensland Ambulance Service, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
