The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a boy from K’gari to hospital after he reportedly injured his neck while diving in the water.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 3.35pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and the crew was able to land on a beach near the scene.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic treated the patient for neck injuries.
He was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
