The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a seriously injured woman to hospital, after a vehicle rolled down a steep embankment, in the Fraser Coast region.
It’s believed the passenger had been trapped for up to two hours, before emergency services were able to free her from the wreckage.
The rescue helicopter was tasked around 2.30am (Sunday 27 March) and landed near the scene.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics transported the patient to the helicopter by road.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel and Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers were also on scene.
The woman was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, with serious facial injuries.
Later in the morning, the rescue chopper was tasked to airlift a man injured in a motorbike crash, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The pilot landed the chopper at an oval near the scene, where the patient was transported to in a QAS ambulance.
He was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
