Injured woman airlifted after two vehicle crash

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a woman to hospital, after a two-car collision this afternoon.

The rescue aircraft was called to the incident which happened on a highway in the Toowoomba region just before midday today.

The pilot landed the chopper at a nearby field, where the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor treated the patient, who had been transported from the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was in a serious but stable condition with chest and abdominal injuries.

She was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment.

A passenger from the same car was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital by the QGAir helicopter.
