Driver cut free from car after head-on crash

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has helped free a woman from her damaged vehicle this evening, before flying her to hospital.

The rescue chopper was tasked just before 6pm to a two-vehicle, head-on collision in the Toowoomba region.

The pilot landed on the highway, which had been closed by the Queensland Police Service (QPS).

Personnel from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), and QPS were already on scene.

A female driver, aged in her forties, was trapped inside one of the vehicles.

QAS and QFES crews worked with the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical crew to free and treat the woman.

She was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with multiple injuries, in a serious but stable condition.
