Man airlifted to hospital after all-terrain vehicle crash

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a man to hospital, after he was injured in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash in the Gladstone region.

The rescue chopper was called to a popular motorcycle park, shortly after 3pm yesterday (Sat, 21st January).

It’s believed the man, aged in his forties, had been driving around the park when he lost control of the ATV, causing it to roll.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue pilot was able to land the helicopter at a designated landing site close to the scene shortly after.

Local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the man for pelvic injuries, and then drove him a short distance to the chopper.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and the QAS Flight Paramedic stabilised the man before he was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
