The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter has airlifted an injured man to hospital, after he was involved in a car crash, earlier today.
It’s believed he was driving along a highway, west of Gympie, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
The rescue chopper was called into action around 8am.
The pilot was able to land the aircraft near the scene.
The aeromedical crew worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to stabilise the man, who is aged in his sixties.
He suffered multiple injuries and was flown in a stable condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH).
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew was also sent to the scene, and they airlifted a second man to the RBWH.
He is aged in his fifties and had been a passenger in the car.
He suffered a suspected spinal injury and was transported in stable condition to hospital.
