RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts man after car crashes into tree

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital after he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a tree.

The rescue chopper was tasked shortly before 8pm.

The pilot landed the aircraft, at an oval close to the incident, in the Scenic Rim region.

The man, aged in 50s, was transported from the scene to the helicopter by local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics.

He was then flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

It’s the second car crash that crews responded to in the South-West today.

Earlier, the Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service was sent to the Western Downs Region to airlift a patient who was injured in a two-vehicle collision.

They were flown to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.

Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
