A motorcycle rider has been airlifted to hospital, after suffering multiple injuries in a crash at a dirt bike track this afternoon. (Sun 24th).
He was reportedly riding his bike when he lost control and was flung up to three metres in the air.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was sent to the scene in the Gympie region, around 3pm this afternoon.
The pilot landed the aircraft at the motocross park, close to the crash site.
The injured rider, aged in his thirties, was treated and stabilised by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) officers and the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue medical crew.
He was then airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further assessment and treatment of a number of suspected fractures.
