The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an injured male to hospital, after the car he was passenger in crashed, west of the Sunshine Coast, earlier today.
It’s believed the driver had swerved to avoid a kangaroo on the road, causing him to lose control and crash into a ditch.
The rescue chopper was sent to the scene, shortly after 12:20pm (Sunday 15th Nov), where the pilot was able to land the helicopter in a nearby paddock.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were treating a male passenger, aged in his twenties, for multiple injuries, when the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical team arrived.
The aeromedical team stabilised him, before airlifting him to the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
