The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a man to hospital, after he was seriously injured in a head on crash this afternoon.
The rescue chopper was called to the scene just after 1pm.
It’s believed the man, aged in his thirties, had been driving a four wheel drive, when it collided with a ute, which had been travelling in the opposite direction.
RACQ LifeFlight Rescue’s helicopter was able to land in a paddock, next to the crash site.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were all on the scene, when the aeromedical team arrived.
The patient was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, in a serious but stable condition, with upper body injuries.
