The LifeFlight Bundaberg-based aeromedical crew today airlifted a woman to hospital after she was reported to be bitten by a snake on a walking track on K’gari.
The rescue helicopter was tasked to the east side of the island at 12.39pm.
Local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics transported the patient from the track to the waiting aircraft which landed in a nearby clearing.
The patient, aged in her 30s, was treated on scene by the LifeFlight critical care doctor, QAS flight paramedic and local QAS paramedics for a bite on her right foot.
She was airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.
