LifeFlight airlifts missing man to hospital

The Mount Isa-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital after he was missing in North West Queensland for three days.

The helicopter was tasked at 6am by Retrieval Services Queensland to help search for the man.

It’s believed he was travelling to Cairns when he rolled his vehicle.

A local helicopter located the man 30 nautical miles northwest of Richmond where he had set up a campsite to wait for help.

The LifeFlight helicopter landed near the patient’s campsite where he was assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) critical care flight paramedic.

The man, in his 40s, was uninjured and airlifted to Mount Isa Hospital for further assessment.
