The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man from the Somerset region after he was injured in a horse incident.
It is believed the man aged in his 50s fell from his horse after his head hit a tree while mustering cattle on a private property.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 3pm, landing in a paddock near the scene.
The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for head and neck injuries.
He was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
